Where it Started:
Meet Anakin, a young man with fierce determination and an amazing life story to tell. Learning to live with multiple health-limiting and serious conditions has been a journey for Anakin. Finding a place in society as a valued, employed, accepted, included and supported member has been an even more challenging battle.

When Anakin finished his 4 year fundraising journey with the Make A Wish Foundation (raising $30,000 by rappelling down skyscrapers), he told his mom and sister that he wanted to create his own business to have a space for people with diverse-abilities to have a job, a place to be themselves and a way to explore many aspects of the arts with friends.... The Diversity Den Society and he Pup-n-Cup Family Cafe & Shop was born..... Coming up with the idea wasn't difficult because.... coffee! As life-long coffee consumers, Anakin and his family embraced the plan of a coffee shop. The dog theme was naturally integrated from an obsessive love of dogs and the dog training classes upstairs. The Pup-n-Cup Family Café & Shop is a small, accessibility-driven, inclusive café and dog training supplies shop located under the dog training center at 2101 43th Street.
It all started with a dream of community, of inclusion and belonging.​

What We're Doing
Brewing Inclusivity, One Cup at a Time.
At the Pup-n-Cup Family Cafe & Shop, we believe in the power of community and inclusivity. As a program of the Diversity Den Society our mission goes beyond serving delicious beverages, tasty snacks and dog training supplies. Every sip you take and every item you purchase directly supports the Diversity Den Society, our dedicated non-profit that empowers people with diverse-abilities through employment and social engagement.
